Food Recommendations

Full of dense, juicy Merlot, this ripe and soft wine is packed with fruitiness. Tannins show under the fruit, a layer of firmness that gives the structure the wine will need to age.

Château Trianon has been one of the finest estates in the south-west of the Saint-Emilion appellation since the 16th century. and has been classed as a Grand Cru since coming under new ownership in 2000. 10 hectares grow there, with 80% Merlot and the rest a mix of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère. Legendary winemaker & ex-owner of Cheval Blanc Dominique Herbrard purchased the estate and has dedicated his efforts to maximizing it's potential.

This Saint-Emilion Grand Cru comes from forty-year-old vines that grow on a soil rich in iron, clay, sand and red gravel.

The fruit is hand-picked and transferred by gravity alone to the vat house, where it is sorted twice. Extraction is gentle at carefully observed temperature levels. Vinification occurs by parcel in upturned truncated tanks. Malolactic fermentation in new wood barrels before ageing in barrels of one year. 14,000 bottles produced annually.
