Wonderfully complex, from the oldest Riesling vineyard in New Zealand
Very dry, racy, and firm and yet opens up with lively jasmine, spicy ginger, white tea floral notes over a structured palate and an intense, mineral finish. Feels like a drive through the luscious Golden Bay.
Heaphy Vineyard is a small winery in the north-west corner of New Zealand's South Island, a region named Nelson Tasman. Their winery is situated high above Tasman Bay on the Moutere Hills, where 10ha of long-established vineyards are defined by Moutere's signature clay soils. First planted in 1973, their vines are amongst the very oldest productive vineyards in New Zealand.
Solely from grapes grown on the iconic rich Moutere clay soil. The Moutere soils provide water holding capacity which gives relief to the vines when sun shines year round. Resulting in wines with percing precision, high intensity and finesse.
The cold-pressed fruit was aged in stainless steel tanks, old puncheon barrels and terracotta Amphoras.
Sushi, smoked fish dishes or goats cheese.
