The wine is complex and fuller bodied, with enticing aromas of red fruit, cherries, vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, it delivers a rich and silky texture with flavours of dark fruits, earthy notes and a subtle smoky hint. The finish is long and satisfying, with a perfect balance of fruit and tannins. This is a stunning wine that truly captures the essence of the Burgundy wine region and is an excellent choice for collectors and connoisseurs alike.

A legendary name in Burgundy with which every collector will be intimately familiar, Maison Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 by the eponymous Louis Henry Denis Jadot, although the family had roots as grape growers in the region dating back far further than this. Purchased by the Kopf family after the death of the last male members of the Jadot family, the Maison currently owns over 60 hectares of vines itself whilst purchasing fruit from select growers to supplement their holdings. In Jacques Lardiére, this mighty winery has one of the most experienced and highly respected winemakers in the entire region, having held the position through the transition of ownership since 1970. A true pioneer of low intervention viticulture and winemaking, Lardiére believes the terroir of his sites is the single most beautiful tool at his disposal. It is the soil and sunlight of Burgundy which transposes the wines of Maison Louis Jadot, conveying a sense of time and place in the greatest of Burgundian fashions.

The grapes come from vineyards situated just to the north of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The two greatest vineyards of Vosne Romanée and Flagey-Echezeaux, are entitled to use the Vosne Romanée appellation. The A.C. of Vosne Romanée has an average vineyard size of 105 ha (13 in Flagey Echezeaux). There are 14 Premiers Crus and 7 Grands Crus. This vineyard is situated on the commune of Flagey, close to Echezeaux, at 320 metres high, and facing East-South / East, the soil is brown, made of chalk and clay, with stones.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée is fermented in open vats for 3-4 weeks to obtain an optimal expression of the soil, then it's aged 18 months in oak barrels

Consider pairing it with dishes such as seared salmon, roasted chicken, mushroom risotto or grilled vegetables
