A modern look at Californian Chardonnay from the Central Coastal region
Appealing saline edge to the aromas with richer toasty hazelnut notes evident underneath. The palate is typically rich with ripe stone fruit but with minerality and flintiness to tame it somewhat.
Our shipper has been working with growers in California for over 10 years, finessing our offering from vintage to vintage, increasingly with specific estates sourcing old vine material and site-specific fruit. The current range of wines are sourced from the warm region of Lodi in Central California, to which Samantha Bailey brings her esteemed palate and decades experience to hone these elements into the brightest wines of The Sunshine State. Her expertise lends itself to this amazing Californian white.
Carefully selected specific estates are used to source the grapes from the San Bernabe region on the central coast.
Fruit is pressed gently in a bladder press before fermentation in stainless steel. 20% of the blend is aged for 6 months in new and used French oak.
