Big, dark and fruit forward showing ripe blackberries and dark plums on the palate with smoky, gravel accents. Drinking well now and will continue to develop over the next 20 years.

Chateau Tronquoy Lalande takes its name from the family that owned the chateau in its formative years, the Tronquoy de Lalande family. Chateau Tronquoy Lalande underwent a complete, 10 million Euro renovation after it was purchased in 2006 by the Bouygues brothers, a significant amount considering the estate is a Cru Bourgeois. A large portion of those funds were allocated to making Chateau Tronquoy Lalande a responsible, environmental, green estate.

The 30 hectare St. Estephe vineyard of Chateau Tronquoy Lalande is planted to 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. With a total of 18 planted hectares, the vineyard is planted to a density of 9,000 vines per hectare and are on average, close to 25 years of age.

The wine is vinified in geothermal powered, temperature controlled, stainless steel tanks. On average, the wine is aged in 25% new, French oak barrels.

'Very polished nose and fruit that show's Montrose's management. A smoky, leathery wine of character and class.' Steven Spurrier
