The colour is a brilliant, deep purple hue. The nose is refined and charming, offering fresh aromas of black fruits intertwined with subtle floral hints of violets. With a swirl of the glass, delicate spicy and woody nuances emerge. The palate is concentrated, yet silky smooth, with a harmonious and elegant finish

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, an iconic estate on Bordeaux's left bank, traces its history back to 1720. Named for its unique terroir characterised by beautiful large stones, the château stands out with its Victorian-style architecture built directly above the barrel cellars. Classified as a 2nd Grand Cru in 1855, it has been under the stewardship of the Borie family since 1942, who uphold a legacy of excellence.

Madame de Beaucaillou is a meticulously crafted blend of 68% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are sourced from vineyards located in the Haut-Médoc appellation, south of Saint-Julien, near Listrac. These plots were acquired by Madame Eugène-Borie and more recently by Madame Fort-Pradère, contributing to the wine's unique character.

Vinified in the cellars of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou by the estate's dedicated technical team, this wine undergoes a careful ageing process. It spends 12 months in Bordeaux barrels, with 20% in new oak and the remainder in barrels that have held one previous wine. This meticulous approach ensures a pure expression of the wine's character.

This pairs beautifully with classic French cuisine. It complements dishes such as entrecôte Bordelaise or any fine steak, enhancing the flavours of the meat with its rich profile.
