Good example of one of northern Italy's most in vogue white wines.
A subtle and restrained white with delicate stone fruit and lightly nutty aromas. The palate is textural with more nutty characters and good concentration, all beautifully balanced by peachy fruit, a dash of lime, and taut acidity on the finish.
One of Verona's historic houses, founded by Giacomo Montresor in 1892, with a reputation built on high quality, affordable Valpolicella and Amarone. In recent years, the range has grown steadily with vineyards being developed in northern Veneto too, around Conegliano. Their portfolio also includes impressive Prosecco wines. The winery was family-owned until 2018 when Montresor was acquired by Cevico, a co-operative group based in Emilia Romagna, with two highly regarded Veneto co-ops as co-investors. Since then, a major investment program has transformed the company - with modern production facilities and a new winemaking team rejuvenating quality across the board, while access to high quality grapes from the Veneto co-owners has enabled some excellent new wines to be developed.
Grapes are sourced from the Lugana and Peschiera del Garda areas (north-west of Verona).
The grapes are softly pressed with a short maceration on the skins and fermented at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine rest for a few months in stainless steel before being bottled.
Ideal with light starters and fish dishes.
