Mâcon-Charnay Clos de L'Église

Clos de l’Église hails from the southerly village appellation of Mâcon-Charnay. The vineyard has a fantastic south-east facing position sweeping downhill from the front of the Roman village church (Sainte Madeleine) towards the dramatic scenery of the prehistoric site of the Roche de Solutré. It’s here that the fruit is grown for this elegant, unoaked Mâcon-Charnay.

Food Recommendations

This is an elegant, unoaked Mâcon-Charnay. Ripe citrus notes on the nose, with a complex palate which balances baked apple and some fresh florals and a gently herbaceous and mineral streak.

This elegant Mâcon-Charnay is produced from grapes sourced from 30-50 year old vines. These vines are located in a unique, single vineyard that was once walled and is situated next to a church, adding historical and geographical significance to the wine.

Sourced from 30-50 year old vines from a single, once walled vineyard, sited next to a church.

This Mâcon-Charnay is crafted in an unoaked style to highlight the natural qualities of the grapes. The winemaking process is designed to preserve the freshness and complexity imparted by the mature vines and the vineyard's unique terroir.

Ideal with a puff pastry chicken pie, or with roast belly pork.
